Hey All!

What did you guys do in the hospital after your surgery, but before you got home.  Im trying to plan for things to do, but I don't know how much pain I'll be in or what my attention span will be like.

Thanks!

Without knowing which surgery you are having, we don't know how you might feel or even how long you may be in hospital!

Highest 290, Banded - 248   Lowest 139 (too thin!). Comfort zone 155-165.

Happily banded since May 2006.  Regain of 28lbs 2013-14.  ALL GONE!

But some has returned! Up to 175, argh! Off we go again,

Ok!  I can't help then!!!!  If you put your surgery type in your profile, it should always show up with your surgeon's name at the top of every post.  Saves you repeating it.  Sure someone will be along to help you!

Very little. I slept, walked, rested, walked, slept, repeat. I had very little interest or attention span for anything, but everyone is different. I wouldn't pack too much, chances are you won't get to reading/doing it. I would bring my iPhone, iPad, and that's about it. ;)

Ditto, what Karen said.  I brought all kinds of magazines and books and never even picked one up.  My focus was on sleeping, and when I wasn't sleeping, I was walking to relieve the gas pain.  You really won't feel like doing anything.  Remember, you have to haul everything you bring with you home again.  You won't want to deal with that.

I took magazines and my iPad but never cracked any of 'em open.  I was much too busy sipping, struggling in and out of bed, walking the halls or sleeping.  I don't think I even turned on the TV for the two nights I was there.

I am in the hospital now and all I have done is sleep, walk, and pee. This is the first time I wanted to get on my phone

RNY on 08/05/19

I spent the whole time either asleep, zonked out on morphine, or trying to walk the halls without barfing. No time for activities.
