Girl Scout Cookies

Cookies are my weakness. I can't have them in the house, or I'll eat an entire box. (After surgery, it's still physically possible, I just eat them one cookie at a time over a day instead of in the span of an hour or two.) Girl Scout cookies in particular are REALLY hard to stay away from.

However, I still want to support the Girl Scouts. They do some great things, like accepting ALL kids who identify as female and standing up for science in their cookie campaign. How do you do that when you don't want to have the cookies?

As it turns out, a LOT of troops let you donate cookies instead of bringing them home! The kids at Safeway were collecting cookies to give to a local women's shelter, and a group at Albertson's were planning to ship them to troops overseas. What a brilliant idea!

Even if the cookie stand doesn't have a sign, ask if they'll take cookies for donations. Help a good cause AND stay on track! :-D
