Nervous/Excited

My paperwork was submitted to my insurance company (CareFirst Blue Choice) on Tuesday, February 2, for VSG.  I'm nervous and excited at the same time.  Each day that passes without hearing anything seems like an eternity.

You can always call the insurance company and ask them for an update on your approval. I did, and learned I was approved before they had contacted my surgeons office.

That's a good idea.  Thanks.

I got a letter from my insurance company in the mail before my Surgeon knew.  I think because I went through a large hospital, that their insurance department takes a little longer, etc.  I got my letter in them mail less than a week after it was initially submitted, and scanned it to my surgeon the very next day.

I hope you get your determination soon!  Good luck!

I just went thru that myself. Submitted on 1/4/16 and didn't find out for 15 bus days. I called and was told that the INS company would get a letter in the mail to me before the Hospital would call to confirm and they were right. Got my letter on the 13th business day and the call from the Hospital on the 15th.

Try to be patient and use this time for cleaning out your cabinets and cupboards...prepare for your new reality..
