Mostly southern cities which is no surprise but Honolulu certainly did surprise me. Guess for a lot of people it is cultural habits.

That surprised me as well, for several reasons.     I have friends who live in Hawaii, including one (now deceased, sadly) who ran a major project there for the homeless in Honolulu.  She told me that Hawaii (or at least Honolulu) has a large homeless population, mostly consisting of native islanders.  It's well known that the homeless and low-income often have the highest obesity rates, since they eat "cheap" food for the most part = high calorie, high fat, high sugar, etc. stuff.  My friends also tell me that canned Spam is a favorite of the natives there, and has been since it was used as a ration during WW II.  Spam, of course, is high in fat content, and she says the locals love to put it on everything.  Then there is the obesity rate among Pacific Islanders, which is on the high side for that ethnic group.  With all these factors working against them you would think Hawaii (or Honolulu) would actually have one of the highest levels of obesity, certainly not the lowest.
