So reading Ms. Mary's   18-lbs in a week   weight loss blog... I was inspired to eat seafood .. particularly  the catch off my docks of the commercial fishermen *****nt from me .  The bottom line soft shell crabs are GREAT   ( as is Dorado and conch  and clams )   total yum-mo-

you never need to dip in real butter - try butter buds -  real butter freeze dried solids .. it tastes exactly the same but you never wear it the next day

I did some googling to find the most protein dense food the other day. I've been doing a lot of chicken, but I want more calories and protein up.

Based on that, I've seen that bacon is a good choice and seafood is great as well

I bought a bunch of flavored tunas in pouches and even sardines yesterday! Had a half can of sardines for lunch and finished it a few hours later for a snack.

Had bacon for breakfast, and a laughing cow cheese wedge.

I got my calories I wanted yesterday, 100g of protein and lost about a pound and a half.

Super excited.

Do you think the higher fat makes us lose? I kind of am starting to believe there is something to it.

No idea, I'm only just shy of a month post op. I believe I've read on here people say that we should get fat thru our diet

I saw on some post about a 5 day meat reset or something to have bacon for breakfast, so I said fine.... Twist my arm ;)

Maybe there are healthier fats than bacon? - at least go for the ones that are low in nitrates.  Is sodium a problem with bacon?  This may not be as satisfying, but I have added avocado as a healthy fat.  A reasonable amount of nuts have been good also.

I eat a couple of avocados per week! I love them on spinach.

I hurt my shoulder and I feel that, like the tin man, some oil would help my joints.  Like you, I just slice it - I don't bother with making guac. Let me know if you have another healthy fat.

Good really , minimally processed bacon fat is a good fat.

Salt - lots of us post op RNY end up with low BP and ortostatic hypotention. Solution to those - more minerals and SALT... Yes.. SALT.. Sodium keeps the water in our system....specially important for people who do low carbs.

Canola oil, hydrogenated oils, trans oils, or too many other omega 6 oils are bad or not that good for us.

As a low-thyroid patient, sodium is poison to my bones - totally leaches out the calcium - but not everyone shares that risk factor.

Also, as I said, I hope people are buying the 'healthy' bacon not the just regular grocery store stuff.

My fats - avocado, nuts, salmon.  But I am on the look out for others.  I do eat real butter - unsalted.
