College - at least for me - was all about the food and drinking. Most social activities involved those two - usually together. The amounts of free food I was offered for different activities was crazy - and none of it was healthy. Yep - my "freshman 15" was like a 4 year "100 lb" weight gain.

I cant imagine having had surgery in college. I mean, I wish I had gotten a handle on my eating issues during that time, but I wasn't ready. But since you are there.....make the most out of experiences - connect with people and make some good memories. All of my memories are blacked out really from just binging on food and alcohol...don't do what I did.
