Can someone provide a sample liquid diet day for what they did their first week? I feel like I'm getting my fluids in but there are moments when I have some serious hunger pangs. Still sippin still walkin and still breathing. I'm just feelin like I'm doing something wrong. Im still using the medicine cups too.

Oftentimes hunger is acid, which can mimic hunger - are you taking a PPI such as prilosec or nexium?

It's also important to remember that the nerves in your stomach were severed, so it's currently a lying liar that lies.  You can't trust anything it's telling you.

During my post-op liquid diet I would drink three protein shakes a day, for a total of around 60-70 grams of protein and 60-70 ounces of liquid.  I'd also finish a 32 ounce Nalgene of water/crystal light.  And sometimes I'd have SF popsicles and have strained panera french onion soup.  I didn't have "meals" at this point, I just sipped on stuff all day.

Take a PPI or pepcid in case the "hunger" is acid.  Drink more.

The full liquid diet sucks.  I had protein shakes, broth, sf popsicles and fudgsicles, sf jello, milk.  That was about it.  Like I said, it sucks.  But it does end, eventually.

Thanks I am takin the pepcid pills but I will work more on the liquids. The struggle is real on this new stomach. Learning new things every day.

Try a PPI instead.  Pepcid is an H2 blocker that works a little differently than PPIs - you might find more relief with a PPI.

Drink as much as you can. Then drink more. As long as it isn't causing pain, you're good. Hunger will fade. It's just in your head at this point.

And good for you for using "hunger pang." It annoys me to read "hunger pain" all the time.

Haha, I just laughed at your hunger pang comment. I have a shirt that says I'm silently correcting your grammar. Well, at this point I figure if I have to change my eating habits then I have to change my mindset. I'll keep that in mind. It really is mind over matter.

It's all in our heads.

Youll loose weight if you stop hunger pains.

I strained the hot and sour soup from our local Chinese place... at that point, I thought it was the best thing I'd ever tasted

Once I hit the pureed stage, I ate hummus from a variety of places...

I cannot bring myself to eat either one of them now...
