discharged yesterday and in so Much pain. I caught the bus and train and he hit every bump imaginable.  I am extremely sore and it hurts like crazy.  Now I have diarrhea.  I know TMI but this journey is crucial.  Going to try to take this day a little easier and relax and walk alot more. Just an update for you guys. Now need my pain meds and some sleep.  ;-)

I'm surprised they allowed you to leave the hospital to public transit. My hospital would only release be to someone driving me home (and yup I remember every bump from that ride!)

Don't be afraid to take the pain meds- rest much and sip frequently!

I am sorry you have had a rough couple of days.   It will get better, just keep walking and taking your pain meds as needed.   You should see improvement with time and less need for pain meds.   Remember to keep sipping fluids, you don't want to get dehydrated.

Good luck,

~Nik

I was surprised they let me use public transit as well but I didn't have another way home.  But thank God I made it.  I took my pain meds and some gas x and feeling a bit better.  I also got up and walked a bit.  Will continue to do such as the day progresses and hopefully continue to feel better.  Thank you guys for the input and support.  You guys are amazing.; -)

Yup, just keep walking and drinking, but don't push yourself too hard! Healing is a big job, and the last thing you need is to make things worse.

Hang in there!

If I lived near you I would have picked you up and took you home.  You needed a ride home.

Glad to hear from you & welcome to the losers bench!  Every day gets better! Take it easy. The ride home probably aggravated everything. Take your pain meds and get some rest.

hang in there, it gets better. i wore a surgical binder post-op and that helped manage the pain for me. hopefully the pain meds will counteract the diarrhea!
