Gallbladder Surgery

I had my gallbladder removed today.  I was worried about the surgery, have had zero symptoms from it but a cat scan found gallstones and my weight loss surgeon said it is not good for a RNY'er to have gallstones.

So I was scheduled for surgery at 8:00, started on time and was in recovery by 9:00.

They woke me up at 11:00 AM, gave me some juice and a blueberry muffin, had me get up and walk and discharged me.  I have a little pain, about a 2 on my right side under the ribs.

This was really easy so far.

Your so lucky that they discovered it early, I had mine out a couple of years ago and they had to open me up to remove it because my stones were so big and my gallbladder was so damaged. I had to go home with 2 drains for 14 days, it was a miserable time. So happy for you!

It was dry and pretty tasteless, something prepackaged.  It was either that or one of the turkey sandwiches that I suspect they made 20 years ago to serve to people after surgery.   They would not let me go home unless I ate something there.

That is great news.  So glad  they caught it before you had any symptoms.
