Most ACCURATE Scale (don't care about syncing with apps)?

I need to get a new scale and thought I would ask the experts! All the articles rating scales use criteria about syncing with apps and seem to weigh that as much or more than accuracy.

My slightly OCD self NEEDS accuracy.  Your suggestions?

I can't speak to accuracy, but the other thing to keep in mind if you go with a digital scale or smart one, is the average battery life. I don't know if those reviews include that as a criteria. But if it's a battery drain, their accuracy can decrease when it's Running low.

having said that, I have an aria scale, and use it daily for about a year and haven't changed the batteries yet. It's also consistent with my old scale. But they are pricey. I also rolled my eyes when my husband talked about it syncing etc. Now, turns out I love that haha.

It varies a lot, even within the same model. Best chance is avoiding really inexpensive models. If it weighs less than your shoes, it likely won't hold up.

If you can look in a store, take down three or four of one you like. Step on and off several times. If you get a different weight each time, it won't be consistent. If it is the same each time, it may be off by a little, but consistently off.

I forget the brand I have, but I got it back when I need one that could handle a steer. It's well built, and has held up well for about ten years. But you likely don't need on that goes up to 550 pounds anymore.

A doctor scale is well built and will last. Maybe look for a used one?

We recently bought a new scale (can't remember what kind, but my old brand one was Thinner (I think), and its a great scale)... the nicest thing with the 'new' scale is that is goes to every .2 ounces... my old one only did.5... it makes a difference as your weight loss slows to be able to read further down to see ounces disappearing... 

Our new scale also holds your weight for 2 different people... which was great, at first, but as I lost, and got close to DH's weight (and then lower than), it would get confused on who I was... I got tired of trying to figure it out, so now I just get one it, and ignore all the other things it does (water% body fat%, etc)

That's my only other suggestion for you!

Expect to spend $$ getting a nice one though... good scales are NOT cheap.

That being said if you are not hung up on syncing to all the smart gadgets I have the best, most accurate scale for you and you don't need batteries.  I have had this scale since the 80's and LOVE it!  It's pricy but as I said it never stops working and is very accurate.

I bought a few and I was not happy with any of them. Finally - a friend recommended Withings.  I Love That it connects to the wifi - but mostly - I love that no matter were i put it- carpet,floor,tile - shows exactly the same number,

I got a $10 digital at one of the chain drugs stores 2 years ago - totally consistent with my doctor's scale.  I would not use a mechanical scale anymore - not accurate enough.  I go through a new battery every 6-8 months.

Thanks everyone for the great suggestions!  I actually have a doctors balance scale at my primary home, but need a scale at our winter condo.

Syncing with apps is important. You cannot lie to yourself when you see it in black and white. I love looking at my weight history over the past 3 years since I got my scale. It definitely keeps me on track.

I have a Withings and love it. The Fitbit scale gets terrible reviews and it's technology is antiquated. I know many people who had an impossible time connecting it with their wifi. Be wary.
