I've had a new body for 18 months now - but it still was wonderful to take a bus into NYC and to NOT TOUCH the person in the next seat.  In fact, there were several inches between us.  It was too cool to look down and see all that empty seat between me and the person next to me.

I didn't think to take a pix of it.

Yes to that...& a bonus thrill to not have to put your bag on your lap, but beside you.  Use all that valuable real estate

Same here!  I still feel almost strange every day when I sit down in my chair at work and I don't touch the arms of the chair.  I still am amazed that I can sit down at the movie theater or in a concert venue and not have the chair arms digging into my hips and thighs.  It's something that you wouldn't even think to appreciate unless you've dealt with it before.

I honestly thought that they started making seats at events like football games smaller.... then more recently I sat in one and had wiggle room... I was dumbfounded when my brain finally clicked... it's not the seats, it was my big butt!
