Great job! I had our first party last night too. I made deviled eggs (with greek yogurt), avocado protein dip (from the Eggface blog) and shrimp ****tail. I was pretty proud that everyone seemed to like the food and it was all things I could eat!

I need to look up the protein avocado dip! Sounds interesting!

That is difficult to remember to get your water in when you are engaged.  I try to plan ahead and have one going while I am working because you can feel it when you don't get the hydration. I bet you will remember next time.

Good for you!! That's a great NSV.  Parties and grazing are a big challenge for me and usually having a bunch of water or seltzer instead of food is my way around it.  I know so soon after surgery, you can't drink much water especially around the time you eat but that's usually how I navigate parties.  Also, send people home with leftovers so they aren't tempting you! :-)

Failure is giving up. And staying on the slippery slope.

Congratulations, you most certainly had an NSV.  Never tread on any of them.  Water is like sleep:  You can't "catch up" on it, so don't waste time trying.  Today is a new day, i.e., a fresh start.
