Vitamin supplements

I preface this by saying I am not looking for medical advice. I will talk to my doctor. However, I'm curious to know what vitamin supplements you all are taking & if there are any brands, etc I should steer clear of. I am extremely skeptical of the entire industry- they are not regulated by the FDA & that coupled with a few news stories about harmful, misleading advertising not to mention studies that have found little to none of the actual ingredients in some products has made me cautious to say the least!

Thanks!

There are no regulations and they can put anything in and be legal.

I have the most confidence in Unjury's O'Purity supplements.

I am in pre-op stage, and I just spent a lot of time yesterday on getting my vitamins. I was wondering the same thing myself-but the bottom line is, especially right after surgery, I know that you need to get these sort of questions answered by your Doctor's office. What I did was email them, asking them for suggestions to use, but most importantly, suggestions of ones NOT to use. They provided me with a nice chart that had all this on it. Your Doc's office might have the same thing.

I know we could all chime in, but some of our answers might be different, depending on the type of surgery we had, how far out are we are...as well as your own body's tweeks..which your Doc's office should know.

Good luck!! Keep us all posted-I know I am going to keep everyone posted on my journey!

Have a Blessed Day....

I am only 7 months out and weight loss centers are all different. Mine allows the Centrum Silver for me. I tried Opurity in the beginning but I did not like the chewables. The only thing I know for sure is that the gummies are not sufficient. And I use a high quality protein powder... I use Syntrax and Unjury.

I use patches for my iron and calcium because they are so difficult to manage, but not everyone believes in them. So far, so good for me... my labs are great.

Avoid vitamins designed for children, like Flinstones, since you're not a child :)

After surgery, I stuck with bariatric specific vitamins. For my multi, it was Celebrate chewables because I could tolerate the taste and texture. The calcium chews from Bariatric Advantage (500mg) are awesome tasting and I still take three per day.

My multi has changed to a generic brand that I buy at Costco, along with a generic chewable B12. My D3 is from Costco as well.

Many people on OH have been successful with Patch MD vitamins. I haven't tried them myself, but the results seem promising.
