Hello everyone,

My name is Linda and I am brand new to OH. I still haven't set up everything yet, but I wanted to say hello first! I met with the surgeon yesterday, and we discussed the Bypass. My insurance says wait 6 months to be on a supervised diet/weigh in monthly before I can qualify. Any tips or suggestions will greatly be appreciated!

Hello and welcome. Read, read read is what you can do now. Also, start thinking about habits you can slowly begin to change as you go through the six months, prepping for surgery. I remember I cut out soda, then all juice, then reduced carbs. So it gradually so you get accustomed to each change.

Start thinking of ways to increase your activity too.

Research. Know what you are getting when you have surgery. Look at long term results.

Welcome Linda!

This site is the best source of information regarding all things weight related. As everyone stated, read & research.

Also, you may want to get a journal/planner to jot down ideas, future bucket list, habits you would like to change and goals you would like to set. I use a planner now to keep up with my meal plan--when I can eat soft foods, when I can eat solid foods, when my 3 month follow-up appointment is scheduled, etc.
