Be aware that weather and sweating can affect how we absorb transdermaly.

I am on estrogen patches and while on a cruise in tropics - I started having hot flashes. I realized that I was hot and sweating every day, so instead of my body absorbing the hormones - the patch just stayed on my skin.

Now I make sure I put smaller pieces of the patch every evening - so even when I get hot and sweaty - my body absorbs the hormones during the night.

I also plan to do the same with my vitamin patches. Put them on at night .

I wear mine overnight and haven't had a problem yet. I'll definitely watch out for excess sweat and moving patches. Hopefully they stay put overnight, or I'll be forced to switch back to pills during the summer months.

I am due for my yearly appt and will be going back in July with switching over to my husbands insurance from my lay off with GE. My question, can you tell me about the patch for vitamins? My Bariatric Center PA where I go once a year never mentioned. Did your doctor give you or you order online?? I am of course taking my vitamins I buy in pharmacy but wondering if patch easier?? Absorb better? I fight low Feratin (up and down over the past 9 years)and calcium last time. So thankful for all this good information I would never know without this online group.
