Cedar Point Restrictions

Hey everyone!

So, I am going to Cedar Point in a couple of months and I am worried about the weight and size restrictions. I'm 5'3" and weight 260, i'm well porportioned and my chest is not large. I am a size 18 pant at Torrid.

From your experience, which rides are safe? I went on the Harry Potter ride last year at Universal at this weight and had no problems (heard some others did), nor did I have a problem on any of the other rides. I just don't want to be embarrassed.

Would love any insight!

I doubt that at that weight you would have any problems. If you are very concerned just call the parks' customer service dept and ask. Have fun.

I also am going to Cedar Point this year & super excited. Try going to their website, it might list any restrictions on there. I also went to Universal last year & rode the Harry Potter rides. If you remember they had a sample seat at the front that you could get into & see if you could fit. They might have the same thing at Cedar Point.

Have fun!

Yup. What T. said.

Cedar point does have their restrictions listed on their site.

I've gone to Cedar Point when I was pre-surgery a long time ago and had issues with the seats and it was not pleasant so I totally understand the worries! Are you post-surgery? If so you would be lighter when you go so that's one thing to consider and I would think you would have zero issues.

But if you're not post-surgery they do have their restrictions online like others mentioned and then at the beginning of each ride they have the sample seats to try so you don't wait in line and then not get on the ride. It's been a long time since I've been there, but I have plans to go later this year. I did go to Harry Potter last year though and I think the rides are pretty comparable size wise.

Did you go on other rides at Universal? I ask because some of the other rides there were more true-roller coasters like Cedar Point so if you rode those with no issues I think you would be safe.

Good luck, and have fun!

Not to scare you off or deter you, but Cedar Point has some very small seats, especially on some of its newer rides. As people have mentioned, check the site in advance and try out the sample seats. I've never been to Universal, but I know at the Disney parks the rides are very friendly to larger size individuals - Cedar Point not so much,

It was a trip to Cedar Point that was my final straw to get WLS. I was about the same size, and actually had to wedge my ass into a wooden roller coaster to ride it. I've never been so uncomfortable in my life! I all but needed a shoe horn to exit. That was the only ride I wish I never rode.

According to the website:

Due to rider restraint system requirements, guests of larger size may not be accommodated on some of our rides. This may apply, but not be limited to, men who exceed 6'2", or those who exceed 225 pounds, have a 40" waistline or 52" chest or females who exceed 200 pounds or wear size 18 or larger. Each person has different body proportions so it is not possible to list exact size and weight.
