Do you have a freak-out number?

Do you have a weight or size that you absolutely will not go past? If you hit a certain number or size, do you freak out and stress about the weight gain.

I usually weigh between 164-166 lbs. I'm 5"3. I usually eat between 1900 to 2000 calories daily. This last month, I have eaten horribly and averaged 2600 to 2800 calories(not protein forward calories, crap food calories). I've let bad habits, fast food, stress eating and junk food slip back in. My scale was broke for a week and I put new batteries into the scale. I got on the scale and FREAKED out. Not in a good way. I weighed 171.2 lbs. It's time to get my butt in gear and nip this regain in the bud. I am starting tomorrow an all meat all week plan. I will drink 80 ounces of water daily. I will not go through a drive-through for 1 month. I will work out 3 times this week for 30 minutes daily. 168 lbs is my top number and when I saw the 171.2 lbs, I went into a panic mode. I came too far to be fat again. Just curious about everyone else's' feelings are regarding weight gain.

Yup. I have a comfort zone, and oh crap zone. When I get past the oh crap zone I reign it in. Less calories and less crap. I'm consistent with exercise- so usually it's just my eating I need to fix.

lol! I love that! I have a green, yellow and red zone. The oh crap zone is perfect. No crap zone needed.

I call it my 'oh crap' zone. Where we like to hang are pretty similar. I say my maintenance is +/- 165. I like to be 163-165. My high is 168 and my oh crap is 170 or above.

yep. The top of my range is 142. When I go over 145 (I have once since hitting maintenance), I freak.

I usually weigh 115-118. I try to eat clean every day when at 118, and allow a little leeway when on the low end (or below). At 120 I start to think "Oh crap" and do the all meat thing. I am petrified of getting higher now (1.5 years post-op). My maintenance calories average around 1250.

As an aside, I haven't been through a drive-thru since I started the WLS journey. I try to always have a protein bar or something else healthy in my bag if I need food. Also, though I exercise to feel good and motivated, I don't count on it for weight loss.

Re: the drive-thru visits. I have only gone through a few times in the last 4 years, and those have been for my boys. I've ordered a drink for myself, and that's it. Pre-surgery, drive-thrus were my go-to for "quick and dirty" stress eating.

Amazing just how much this surgery changes things for us, isn't it?
