Stress and plateaus?

I have hit a plateau recently. My scale does not budge, not even an ounce when I weigh in the mornings. My stress has been out of control though with some real life issues with work issues. My calories have been low, 500-600, which I am trying to actually ramp up a bit since my lifestyle is now fairly active. Is there a correlation between stress and weight hitting a brick wall? What are some plateau busters you all have been successful with?

There are no guaranteed plateau busters - but what I always found helpful- change up what AJ was eating, sometimes we get into a rut of eating the same things all the time. Add fat. We need that too.

Hmm. I would love a bit of avocado if I add more fat.

I've had numerous plateaus in my year since surgery. After the initial dump of weight, I would go a week or two without losing anything, and then dump 5# or more. It's frustrating, but just keep the course. Make sure you're getting plenty of protein and tons of water. Maybe consider changing up your protein source a bit. Some people see results if they up their calories a bit for a few days and then drop back down. Just play with it a bit and see what works for you.

Maybe I do need some different foods. My meat choices are pretty limited most the time. I am not too adventurous.

Keep doing what you've been doing. Be a machine. No wavering. There will never be a magic plateau buster. None.

You've done great so far. Don't stop.

I definitely feel like a machine! That's a good thing. I do know I need to be more mindful of my water. I used to down water like crazy but now I have to force it.

Sometimes plateaus happen. Just keep with the protein and lots of water. I've found that in general the more fluids I drink the more I lose.

Stalls are totally normal - one of the reasons I like to focus on my trending weight instead of my daily weight. Also, yes, stress can screw with weight loss. There are good ways to cope with it such as meditation, exercise, getting enough sleep, etc.

If you're eating correctly, don't worry about it - the weight will come off.

You're on the final stretch of your honeymoon period, so you may notice your loss starting to slow down. This is where you need to work harder if you are still a ways from goal.
