VSG on 08/21/17 with

I've been searching the forums for info about eating oysters. My biggest concern is chewing them - I usually just let them slip down whole. I'm afraid that that chewing them like I do with other meats will be not an enjoyable experience. Any insights?

i wouldn't. The basis for this opinion is that we are to chew our food to applesauce constency [sic] post op. The oysters are going down WHOLE (i.e. NOT applesauce consistency).

I believe to do oyster shooters would result in a stomach ache, pain, or barfing.

Every Christmas we make our traditional oyster stew, they are soft and not chewy in this particular stew. That's the only way I can eat oysters, just once a year:-)

I was about 2 years out before I ate raw oysters, just because I hadn't had the opportunity before. Those delicious creatures slipped right on down.

I eat raw oysters the usual way. No problems.

Maybe try one the traditional way and sit with it a while to see how you handle it before trying another?
