Tomorrow's the day...

The day has come. I'm having my surgery (RNY) tomorrow at 10:30am EST. My stomach is turning because I am full of anxiety. I know I will be fine, but the thought of being wheeled to the OR is freaking me out. I wish I could have my mom hold my hand while they put me to sleep...I am such a baby! Lol.

It's safe to say I will not be sleeping tonight.

If anyone wants an update after surgery I will post one. :)

You'll do great. Let the anesthesiologist know you're nervous and ask if there is something they can give you to calm you down before you go back. I'm sure you have an expert team of folks who will do their best to make you comfortable. Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers.

I too was super anxious. At the time of my surgery I was regularly taking an anxiety med and my surgeon had me take a pill the night before surgery. It helped me.

This is a very brave step you are taking; I'm proud of you and anyone else who is literally willing to change their life to regain good health.

We have all been where you are and we are pulling for you! Please check in and let us know how you are.

Everything is going to go well! Relax. Breathe. I found this meditation very helpful. It's about recovery, so you can listen to it in the hospital afterward, but I got myself psyched up by listening BEFORE surgery many, many times! Very relaxing and calming. It's a short guided meditation on recovery from surgery.

Good luck tomorrow! You'll do great!

I was one year post op yesterday and I remember having the same anxieties the night before. A year later I'm so much happier and healthier!

You've got this!

Please keep us posted as soon as you can. We'll save a spot for you on the loser's bench!
