I have had my lap band for 3 years and have had so many issues since having it. So much that I let al the fluid out of my band, I am still having severe restriction when eating healthy food! I want to have my band removed and have the sleeve done. I just recently was approved for Medicaid. Is there any way I could get the procedure covered and does anyone know anyone who accepts Medicaid? Any help would be appreciated!

I'm sorry you've had a hard time. I think a call to your Medicaid provider is your first step. They can tell you whether or not it's covered and give you surgeons to contact.

Everybody's coverage situation is different, so nobody here can give you any advice about your coverage. Call the phone number listed on your Medicaid ID and ask for their policy.

Hi Danya,

Ditto on what everyone said..... Keep in mind if you have to have the band out, you want to start documenting all the medical issues. Let us know what you find out
