When I started watching this episode you could see how they were enabling each other. But the episode was not like others. It focused on obesity and how it affects relationships. It also put a spotlight on how important it is to deal with "head issues".

I am so glad they went beyond the surgery and food. These issues can make or break you and have a big impact on your success to getting to goal.

Looking forward to the update on this couple What did you think

I have never rooted so hard for someone to be successful as I did for Rena. I can't wait to see an update eventually. Often people make so many excuses, whine, cry, etc. She seemed more dedicated to being successful somehow.

I couldn't agree with you more Meggles. The line the therapist used was so ON THE MARK. When he had the surgery his drug of choice was taken away and he was in withdrawal. Nothing excuses violence but it shows how it changes people.

And I was so glad finally Rena is putting Rena first!

I am rooting for her to leave her SO. I think she deserves better treatment. It makes me thankful that I had my wakeup call at 350. I wasn't eating like they were, but I was the heaviest I'd ever been in my life. I freaked out when I saw that I was close to 400 pounds. I lost a total of 180 and have put back 40 pounds. I've taken off 20 of that, and I'm working to take the other 20 off. I got off my diet during a move to a deep fried no vegetable wasteland of a place. I'm now living in a different city, and staying on my prescribed diet is easier here. I was also diagnosed with hypoglycemia, so there are two diet tracks I'm following.

Boy did you bring back a memory. My Aunt had to have surgery and I went to help her and my Grandmother. They lived in a southern state and everyone, (not joking) everyone in that area smelled like rancid oil. When I was at the hospital and we got on the elevator I thought I had stepped into a McDonalds

Fatty food ( especially fried foods and cheeses)are in my opinion such a touchy subject among post WLS recipients.

Personally I think indulging in fats keeps fifty pounds on each of us post op- is it worth it?

55-60% of my calories come from fat and if I lost 50lbs I'd be dead.

Seriously. I eat a nice amount of fat and I would also be dead if I lost 50lb.
