Helpful vitamin info

Re-sharing some of this info since some of it came up in the "worst WLS advice" thread.

I've assembled some useful information about what vitamins we should be taking after WLS:

What are the ASMBS recommendations? These supplement recommendations are from 2017 and are the most recent I could find. I provide a line-by-line comparison to a generic adult multivitamin so you can see how to meet the recommendations.

Why aren't Flinstones sufficient? The ASMBS recommends 200% RDA of all vitamins and minerals. In this worksheet, I've laid out what's included in a single- or double-dose of Flintstones chewables and compared it to the recommendations.

Tracking sheet with recommendations: You can make a copy of this sheet to track your own lab work values and compare your numbers to where they should be. The recommendations are from 2011 but I don't believe they have changed too much since then. If you need to know what lab work to order to get all these numbers, you can find the list here.

Disclaimer: I am not a medical professional, I just like pointing people in the direction of guidelines from people who know what they're talking about!

Thank you, Julie! The tracking sheet RULES. Seriously, I feel so organized and empowered, knowing my numbers and where they should be. I wish I had done this 3 years ago!

Hi, Just wanted to let you that one cell may be formatted oddly. For Folate the VitLady value is 20-Oct. I'm guessing that cell is just formatted for date.
