Whoa....just whoa.

I haven't had a insulin shot or diabetes pill in well over 2 months...since a few days after surgery. My last a1c was 6.2 one month out.

I just did an at home a1c test. I can't believe it! My A1c is now in the normal range at 5.4.

This was my main goal. The weight coming off is important but this...this is my big win.

i want to cry but I know it'd give me a worse headache. It's very reassuring for me that i'm On the right track!

Yep! Being a ontrolled diabetic without the need for medication- fantastic and wonderful. Great NSV! Keep it up. I have my fingers crossed for me that this will be a lasting effect of the surgery...I am crossing them now, for you

Gee I'm still taking all my diabetes meds, Insulin way down but have been diabetic for more than 10 years, my A1C was 6.0 at 2 months out but my Endocrinologist wanted me to continue as I was as long as I had no lows, which I'm not. I'm still hoping to discontinue the Insulin but will have to wait until I see her again in July.

Prior to surgery, I took two diabetes meds, and still had trouble controlling it. I came off the meds right after surgery in September 2010, and my last A1C in November 2017 was 5.6. My morning blood sugar stays right around 98. As a trade off, though, I deal with reactive hypoglycemia; easily controlled by diet, but still sometimes an issue. I love not being on drugs. I can take all the vitamins I need, as long as I can stay away from the meds!!

I am hoping to stay away from a lot of meds. I do take meds for my mental health but it's such a relief to be off diabetes, blood pressure and cholesterol drugs.

Good luck to you too!
