I'll happliy share what I know works to end the " melted candle " look and the emotional and hormonal demands for regain resulting from it .

i Do believe ( from personal experience ) that ALL of us ( not just the youngest ) can enjoy snap - back tight skin and even photo - worthy definition .

What do You think? What works for You ?

Nothing's gonna work for me but plastics. I'm 57, have had 2 c-sections and was over 300 pounds (looking back at photos) so I'm down about 140 pounds. My plastics person is ready but I'm not. So, nothing is going to snap my skin, which has been stretched beyond capacity for the last 30 years back.

Keep on losing!

At 400lbs, my skin isn't "stretched". It grew to accommodate my size, and I have no illusions that it will magically shrink back as I lose the weight. So I'm starting to make financial preparations to pay for plastic surgery when the time comes.

I do think it's a good idea to take care of your skin, though. Not because it will make it "snap back", but for health and looks. Drinking lots of water, eating enough protein and healthy fats, vitamins & minerals, good quality moisturizers, avoiding too much sun exposure, exercise that makes you sweat, exfoliation...these are all great for your skin.

You may have less than you think also. I was so sure I would have abdomen stomach to my knees like some pictures I had seen since I weighed 485. Honestly I don't have it like I thought. It's not at all to my knees and no one even notices it clothed, I don't even notice it most the time. My arms don't bother me, but my thighs do. I wish insurance would pay for a thigh lift over my pannus being removed.

It's so hard to predict there are so many factors, you still have youth on your side. Yet I've seen pictures from my plastic surgeon of someone who was younger than me and lost ½ the weight I did and her pannus was practically to her knees.

I am the same way, Mersh.

My skin really isn't that bad at all. The plastic surgeon who consulted when I had my massive hernia repaired noted that he's seen "normal" weighted women who had far worse issues just from pregnancies.

I have no desire for PS, which is good, because I couldn't justify spending money on it anyhow.
