Is anyone else annoyed by the swear word filter?

Personally, I think the swear word filter on this forum causes far more problems than it cures. This isn't the type of forum where people post rude words just for fun. I don't think I've seen a single post on this forum where someone intentionally tried to post a swear word; they always censor it themselves by writing, for example, "s**t".

Instead, we have a plethora of posts with innocent words such as "sal****er" , or run-together words such as "*****ads" censored. The effort to figure out what the original word was also forces me to realise what word the filter was trying to censor. That's far more annoying to me than if the post actually contained a rude word!

You can turn the filter off. Then you can cuss along with the rest of us.

Cog wheel, Settings, Message Board, then select Allow Adult Content
