    Staying Centered

What can you do today, next week and next month to remain on track, or get back on track? Staying centered will keep you firmly on the road to a lifetime of health. Here are a few simple ideas to help you achieve balance in your everyday life.

    Week 1
Start the first week out by making healthier food choices. Is there room for improvement in your diet or are there recipe substitutions that are healthier for your lifestyle? Practice portion control as an added plus!

    Week 2
Track your journey. Focus on using free online apps to help you stay on track. The ObesityHelp (OH) Health Tracker has been designed to support your journey. As a member of ObesityHelp.com, you have free access to many tools including the OH Health Tracker. The OH Health Tracker enables you to track your food intake, exercise accomplishments, and so much more. Your detailed journey can be kept entirely private or you can choose to share your Health Tracker information with friends, family, your bariatric surgeon or other clinicians.

    Week 3
This week, Friend a Friend on OH! Find one of your peers on OH who you think you can learn from or help to support. Friend them and start a conversation. Find and give the inspiration and support that you deserve!

    Week 4
Journal your thoughts this week. Sometimes just simply writing the words down helps to motivate you and keep you on track. Share your journey with others by blogging on your OH profile or if you prefer, you can keep your OH blogging journal private.

    Week 5
This week, join an OH Group or start your own. There are Back On Track Together groups, WLS Buddy groups, and much more. Find a topic of interest to you and get to know other OH members worldwide.

    Week 6
Each day this week, grab a buddy and talk a walk. A nice summer walk can help to clear your mind and exercise is a natural antidepressant.

    Week 7
Set new goals this week and record them on your OH profile by using the goals system. Sharing your goals or even posting them as a reminder for yourself is a good way to help yourself get and stay on track with those things most important to you.

    Week 8
This week, do something nice for someone each day. Pay the freeway toll for the driver behind you, compliment a stranger, or donate canned foods to a shelter of your choice. Practice random acts of kindness and know that you have just made someone's day, as well as your own!
