Hi all - my Lap-RNY was 4/29 - so far I've lost 19lbs!  Very exciting!  Those first few days are rough, incision pain and lots of "gonna-float-away-from-all-this-gas" feeling, but it gets better pretty quick.  One thing I've found that tastes good to me is a packet of sugar-free Carnation Instant Breakfast, 1 cup of crushed ice, 1/2 cup of milk and a tablespoon of peanut butter (I'm using Smuckers all-natural - only ingredients are peanuts and salt).  I whirl all that for about 5-6 seconds in my magic bullet clone and it is yummy!  I was getting tired of the other stuff, and this was a welcome break.                                    Best of luck to you all!

If you add a little protein powder to this you will be doing that much better! Anywhey works best for me without much of a taste. http://www.cheapvitamins.com/advanced_search_result.php?keywords=any+whey LYNN

I'd check with your surgeon before adding any meds to the regimen - some are OK, some do nothing because they're designed to be absorbed through your stomach (of which you have so little now!), some can harm your tender little pouch, so best to ask.  I know, that bloat-y feeling is not at all fun!

I'm right next to you all on the bench.  I am 9 days out today and have lost 22 lbs.  Actually my weight hasn't changed in about 3 days.  I am once again retaining fluid but that is because I was craving salt last night and sucked on three pickles.  I am going to try the carnation peanutbutter shake that sounds yummy.  I cannot tolerate any of the protein shakes tried so many my wallet hurts.  TTYL.  Gina

Glad you are home, I just got home from my Lap RNY on Wednesday so I am right there with you.  I feel like all I do is sip sip sip, and look at my waterbottle which is still full :)

I had my surgery on Monday as well!  I'm feeling better everyday but I'd like to stop walking around the house like I live in a bell tower (hunchback). That peanut butter shake sounds good!  I'll have to try that one! Rene'

Congrats! I made it home today, they kept me an extra day since the drive home was 3 hours. Today was the first day that I was really sore since my surgery on Tuesday. I really love how that worked out.
