Topic: RE: terrible weekend tummy sore
I am 7 weeks out tomorrow. I went away this weekend with DH and kids.  We rented a boat and the lake was choppy.  My DH (or should I call him a teenage boy at this point) decided that getting the speed boat to go top speed was "awesome".  However, not for me.  My body was jarred around so much that I just felt so much anxiety and tension.  Finally he noticed and stopped.  Then this morning, while in the pool with my 4 year old, he accidentally kicked me in the stomach with his foot.  I felt so sick. I could definitly feel it was right in my pouch.  I just feel like my body took such a beating.  I am not sure if I should be worried if anything was hurt?  In addition, I just had poorly planned the trip.  I had nothing to eat except my protein powder and didn't even get enough of that. I forgot to take my vitamins and probably didn't get all my water in. Everywhere everyone was drinking and eating and having fun.  I just felt miserable.  It was too bad too, because my husband was sooo looking forward to it.

Topic: RE: Do you ever feel like this won't work for you?
I have been spending all night looking at the before and after photos.  Just like I used to look at the People magazine of people who lost 100 POUNDS!  Thinking, that it great for them, but that will never be me.  I have dreamed of being thin my whole life, but just never was.  Now, 6 weeks post RNY, I am 26 pounds down and I feel like, I am sure this is the end of the weight loss.  (Typically I lose 30 pounds and then gain back within 6 months).  I need to hold on tight.  It is weird though, how sad that I can still be about my weight even though I have done the surgery.  I am following the plan and just waiting, but still think "oh this will never happen for me"

    Anyone feel this way?

Topic: RE: New Member having wls tommorow, excited, scared and starving!!!
Good luck tomorrow.  All you have to do is go to sleep.  I am just 6 weeks out and down 26 pounds.  I cannot be happier, and tomorrow you will start your new life!  Take care.

Topic: RE: What's the best protein powders to use?
    Hi,
I have been using Isopure Zero Carb and Low Carb (Whey Protein Isolate).  They both have 50g of protein per serving.  It knocks out my 65-75 protein per day no problem.
Hopefully you will like it.  You can get it at GNC.  The nice thing, is if you don't you can return it.
But careful, they prey on their customers and will try to get you to buy anything but what you came in for...

    Good luck on surgery!!

Topic: RE: How do you respond to people about your weightloss?
I know from the several times I lost weight, people say the darndest (did I use that word) things.  How have you responded to that. I am using this surgery to help me. I know some people will be opposed and others will want to know exactly how I did it. How did you respond? To good, bad and just plain curious questions?
Topic: RE: 5 days post-op RNY
I am not there yet but you made the right choice to take care of yourself. Don't worry about mean spirited people. They have no idea and you are taking this bull by the horns. I can't wait to be where you are. Good luck. Hang tough.
Topic: RE: Went to my surgeon today
So today I met with the surgeon. I was all ready for VSG (mainly due to NSAIDs and menstruL cramps) he said that because I have a hiatal hernia amd gerd he can put that through my insurance. However he wouldn't be able to justify VSG for gerd. In addition, he mentioned that I could take NSAID suppositories. Does anyone know this. I want the surgery but he directed me to RNY. He said I could do VSG but it wouldn't sOlve the problem.
    Any thoughts?
Anyone think they want vsg and got rny and happy?

Topic: RE: Should I have RNY surgery before family vacation or not??
Hi, I am going on vacation 8/2 with my dh's family.  I didn't want to tell anyone, but will it be impossible, will I feel terrible being at the beach after having surgery 3 weeks before?
Any insight would be helpful.  I just don't know what to expect after.  But I am so sick of feeling terrible.  I wi**** was tomorrow. :(
Topic: RE: New- Do you regret gastric bypass surgery?
Hi, I am new and considering gastric bypass.  Initally I thought about the lap band, but I worry too much about having something inside my body.  I had my consultation and I seem to be concerned about the people who judge me for getting it.  What if I gain the weight back?  How do I deal with addiction of food?  What if it turns into alcohol.

I only think that this will improve my life and help me to spend my life focusing on my very very two active boys instead of my weight and how many diets I can go on.  Anyway, just wondering if any of you have regretted it?

    Thanks.  Wishing everyone well.
