    Heidi,
You still look great! I too, am 10 pounds away from a new goal that i set for myself.
It has been 6 years, how time passes.
I also invested 8K in arm reduction and breast reduction/lift. I am like you, in respect that I will not mess this up due to regain. The most I regained in 6 yrs. was 8 pounds. That is now gone and working on the last 10.

Skin just doesn't shrink back. I was 267 on my day of surgery and have lost 120 pounds.

    Topic: RE: Help..back on track

    Helen,
I have the same problem, I have regained 10 pounds from my 2006 surgery. If I did not do something fast it would turn into much more.
I have recently joined TOPS (Take Off Pounds Sensibly) programs are all over the world.
It is different because you pay 26.00 for the year to join and 5.00 week, unlike some programs that charge 13.00 per week.
The bottom line is, I must be accountable to myself first, and knowing that I will face the scale weekly has kept me in line.

You do whatever form of weight loss you want to do, choose whatever you want to follow, no one says you must count points, or whatever, but you must face that scale every week. That is what I need.

I just wanted to throw that out there in case it might help someone. It is the support that we all need and that is what I get from TOPS.

    Best of luck to all,

I also have been wondering about my teeth. They are also falling apart. I worked in Dental my entire life, went every 6 months for check ups and never had to much wrong.
All of a sudden, my teeth are cracking breaking, decay under neath crowns. Now I am looking at either 2 bridges or 2 partials, not counting 2 crowns.

I also am very low on D vitimins, my calcium levels are a little off and iron low.
I don't know what to do about my teeth, other than get them fixed.

Topic: RE: Here to re-motivate myself...

It is a terrible feeling once it starts, but it passes soon.  It has been 5 yrs. since my surgery, I had RNY. I still want to lose 10-15 pounds, and just can't seem to find the motivation.
We have adopted 4 children lately, but I have had them for 4 yrs. already and you would think that I would not have a weight issue at all.

Keep in touch, wish you the best.

I think I am having reactive hypoglycemia also.  I can eat and then start to feel so weird, I feel like I am going to faint, my heart is pounding and my sugar drops to like 45.
I am also 5 years post op from RNY.
I really need to get back on track, I have regained 10 pounds and would love to get it off.
I feel like I get plenty of exercise, I am contantly cleaning, taking care of kids, ages 4, 5, 11, and 16. I have a busy life. Maybe it isn't the right kind of exercise that I need.
Thanks for the support, there are many of us that still need it but we don't ask for the help.

    Kristi,
Thank you for sharing that with us.  I know it is something that I have to deal with as well.
    I am seriously considering therapy.
You look great at least you are working out, keep that up at least until you get in a better place with the grazing.

Topic: RE: I need help...Is anybody ravenous all the time, or is it just me?

I know where you are coming from. I do really great most days but I have a terrible time sleeping at night and when I get up I look for food. I am into all sorts of stuff, I do dump on almost all forms of sugar, so why do I eat them? This has been going on for so long, I too am terrified that one morning, as I do everyday, I will step on the scale and instantly 10 pounds will appear.
I am so afraif to gain, I went from 268 down to 154. I feel good and think most of the time I am still too heavy, I am 5'3". I can wear between 8 and 10. So why can't I get a grip on this nighttime eating. I had my surgery in Feb. 2006, I should know better.

Good Luck to you, as you can see from the replies, we had stomach surgery not brain surgery.

    Topic: RE: Fitbit or Bodybug

Thanks Andrea, I think that is what I will get, I hate the subscription thing with the bodybug. You can really invest alot of money quickly.
I hardly ever sleep, I am up and down all night long, I don't know what can be done about that.
When I wake up I am looking for something to eat or drink, bad habits to restart.
I have lost 125 pounds over 5 yrs. with RNY, but have regained about 8 pounds thus far.
It is hard not to slip back into old habits.
    Thanks again,

    Topic: Fitbit or Bodybug

Has anyone used either of these and if so what is your take on them?
Fitbit seems cheaper since there is no subscription required to access the data base after the first 6 months.
I really need something, seems better than the average pedometer.

    Congradulations, you look great.
My surgery was 5 years ago (RNY) and I lost 120 pounds, it is so hard to maintain but I know we have too work at it. I have regained 8 pounds of it. I just can not let myself return to where it all began.
    Keep up the good work.

Topic: RE: Three & a half Years out!!.....But what are these 3 episodes??

Sounds like both dumping and hypoglysemia combined. I still suffer from dumping after 5 years, but lately am experiencing drops in sugar levels. I am going to see the doctor but haven't yet.

Cereal and milk will certainly bring on the dumping.
    Good luck to you.

I am taking this article to my doctor next week to see what he has to say or perhaps what I need to start doing.
It is so weird, doesn't happen all the time but boy when it does! I carry quick glucose tablets with me now, just in case.

I never thought of that!! Donut has been a nickname and 24 kids came from 10 years of foster parenting. (Now it is 26) total that have lived in our home.
As of last Wednesday, we have adopted 4 of these children, ages 4,5,10 and 15.
I wouldn't have it any other way.
    God Bless.

    Topic: Drop in Sugar levels

I am now 5 yrs post op from RNY, my anniversary was yesterday.
I have had very few complications, I try to follow all the rules, water, protein, vitamins etc.
Lately I am experiencing some strange things. This usually occurs after a have had a meal and on occasion after sipping on a Starbucks latte,(I do not do that very much) but I start to feel weak, my hands start to feel numb and I feel very faint. I take my sugar (finger stick) at that point and my levels have been as low as 45. This has happened to me 5 or 6 times lately.
I have never been diabetic or have not had any issues with sugar. Has anyone had symptoms like this, I am going to see the doctor but need some input from you guys.
Thanks in advance to all *****spond, GOD bless each and everyone.
