    Topic: Moving

There is a strong possibility we may be moving to Florala, AL.  Is there any one from the area?  Just wondering what it is like--how are they for having bariatric surgeons?

    Thanks in advance.

Topic: RE: OT: Cashing Money Orders?

    Hi Angie--

You could try a Western Union office.  I use to work for one and we would cash money orders or a Mailbox store.  I noticed that some of them sell money orders.

Topic: RE: Feeling lost and alone

Christian, I am glad you posted and hope it helped to get some of your thoughts/feelings out.  I am about 8 months out and doing well despite some of the same thoughts.  We have a disease and do have to stay on top of it even when the struggle gets strong.  That is just the nature of it.  The reward of a longer life and surpasses any struggle that I am going through.  I know deep down (from your previous posts) you feel this way too.   I will keep you in my prayers today and pray that you will find a calmness to get through this struggle.   Thanks for all the support you do give and I hope we can be there for you. Sarah-- I am so sorry that this happened.  Yikes.....I really hope nothing comes of it.  You are right to contact the credit bureau and notfy them.  I would do all I could to stay on top of it.  You may need to follow up with letters...I know that is a hassle, but sometimes phone calls just don't do it.  Hang in there. Topic: RE: Sleep Study

Hi!  I have a CPAP and use a mask that just goes over the nose.  It didn't really take that long to get use to.  i did find that the sleep I got from using the CPAP was so much deeper and restful, that using the mask didn't seem like a big deal.  I think it is just the thought of using it that is a bit uncomfortable.  Good luck! Topic: RE: quick question

My thoughts on this are that you could do it, but you would get really hungry and probably not to be able to do it for long.  Also, my doctor and nutritionist want the protein to be from regular food as much as possible, so I really wasn't on the shakes for very long.  There is also the factor of malaborstion from the surgery that you wouldn't have. Topic: RE: Question

Thanks for your reply--I was just wondering--it makes a lot of sense. Oh no...sorry I didn't mean I would get it stretched--just if it was done by too much eating. Vanessa

    Topic: Question

I hope this doesn't sound silly, but what are the effects if you stretch your stoma?  Can you eat more, or does the malasoprtion not work at well?  Just wondering. Tahnks, Vanessa

Topic: RE: Coffee's hot C'mon in********

Hi Dawn, Good Morning.  I am joining you for a cup of coffee--it sure hits the spot.  It is snowing here in MO too.  Not as much as you are getting I am sure, but enough to disturb the day.  I am suppose to go to a luncheon at Cracker Barrel, but don't know if I will make it.  Ah..winter.  That is so cute about Miss Lilly and the parrot.  Conjures up a great visual.  Hope you hear from the Ortho's office today and that all will work out with your knee.  I understand that one as I have knee problems, due to my weight issues.  I still have to wait until I loose more weight before anything can be done.  I am going to curl up with a good book today--not much else to do.  Did my cleaning yesteday.  Yes, there is always some to be done, but it is a better day to read! Take Care, Vanessa

    Topic: RE: Protien Question

I use protein in my coffee every day.  I find though that it can't be steaming hot coffee or else it gets clumpy.  I usually wait until it cools down some, or put an ice cube in it and it is fine. Vanessa

    Topic: A question--

I have seen on here two views--one you can stretch you pouch and second that you can't.  My question how do you know you have stretched your pouch and is it normal to be able to eat so much more at 5 monhts out. I do know that there are times when I have eaten too much and it literaly hurts. It just bothers me that I can eat so much--but is it becasue those foods that I have eaten too much of are less dense?  I know with some proteins I can only eat a little before I feel full.  All this is confusing to me.  I do know that I have to weigh and measure everything I eat, so as not to eat too much.  I remember somone saying that just becasue we can, doesn't mean we should and that really helps me. Does going back to the 5-day pouch test get your pouch down to the size it should be?   Thanks in advance. Vanessa

    Topic: A Question

Sorry if this has been posted before, but I really could use help with an answer. On medication which one are we allowed to take, if any--the SR or EL?  Are they both the same?  i know the why--just don't know which one. Thank you, Vanessa

Topic: RE: almost 4 weeks out and ALWAYS nauseous

Hi! I remember feeling nauseous for about 4 weeks after my surgery--I didn't have the pain though.  It takes awhile for our little pouch to get use to its job.  Are you taking time between bites?  I know I had trouble with it tonight (I should know better at this point) and felt nauseous and some pain--like I was really too full.  Since your doctor did all the tests and everything is fine, I think you can rest assured that all is well.  It sounds like you have a good doctor.  If the pain and nausea doesn't go away in the next week, I would call him and tell him again what is going on.  Things will get better. Vanessa
