Hi Bri, I am sorry to hear that. If you can tell me which ones you are having difficulty finding, I can help you to get to them. And could you give a few more specifics on the ease of use issue that you mentioned? Thanks!

Welcome to the OH Forums! :)

Topic: RE: Minor changes to header and messageboard posting

We have just launched a couple of neat changes to the site:

    Reworked Header
The header for the site has been slightly reworked, making it easier to search for professionals across the country. You can now search by location, professional type, and zip code directly from the header. If you want to simply go to the professional map, select 'Map' and your desired professional type, then click 'Go'.

Additionally, Search, Messages, and "My Account" have been integrated into the menu bar. What was previously "My OH" has been renamed to "My Account", and "My History" has been renamed to "Surgery History" to make it easier to understand.

Snazzy New Editor for the Forums
HTML Editor #1 has been upgraded to the latest version. Previously, it used something called "FCK Editor", which has been upgraded to its newer counterpart, "CKeditor".

Along with this change, all of you get a couple of new toys to play with:

    1. First off, you are now able to create numbered lists and bullet lists in all of your posts! You will see two new buttons for that up top.
    2. Secondly, the spell checker is now always on and works automatically as you type. As you keep typing, any wrong spellings get underlined in red. To correct them, you just need to right click the word to see the options.

Please let us know if you have any questions or doubts, and we look forward to hearing your feedback!

    Regards,
    ObesityHelp Team

Topic: RE: OH Forums are Now MOBILE!

Its been over six years since we've launched our forums. During this time it has seen thousands of fresh faces, greetings, meetings, partings, arguments, kind words, life transformations, cathartic rants, and simply happy time pass. It has been with us throughout this time, silently observing and facilitating. But like any wise old man, its bones were getting old. Its joints were aching, and it has been needing a new jolt of energy.

    A Mobile World
Did you know that over 30% of you visit our website using a mobile device? For those who do visit us via mobile, we owe you a sincere apology, because our forums have been horrendous on a mobile browser. But things have just changed! Our new forums are completely mobile friendly and compatible with iPhone, Android, and pretty much any other modern smart phone.

Each post, topic, and forum shows up beautifully, with the full set of features, and in nice large font. See the screenshots for yourself.

You dont have do anything different, just browse to the forums like you normally would. This means that you can finally put these away:

    Not Just for Mobile
The interface on your desktop browser has also been cleaned up a great deal. There is now less clutter on the page, and the overall experience is a lot cleaner. Check out some more screenshots here!

You will notice that each post no longer has 400 buttons below it. Only the buttons that are relevant to each post show up, making your screen space a lot less cluttered. Also, when you reply to another person's post, the entire post is indented inside, making it a lot easier to figure out who has replied to whom.

    Moving Forward
And do remember that this is not in any way a be-all-end-all when it comes to the forums. We are in the process of constantly learning and improving upon what we have, and this is just one step along the way.

We look forward to hearing your thoughts on this.

Very interesting. Are you on Windows? And if so, which version? I will definitely look into this.

Hi, may I ask which internet browser you are using, and which version?

Topic: RE: Access to your OH bookmarks
As we had mentioned in the other announcement, the old Bookmarks feature of OH is being removed. Though the feature was overall not being used very often, I understand that some of you did use it and rely on it to navigate around OH.

For this reason, we have made your old bookmarks available for you to download as an HTML file so that you can continue to use them.

[[ Click here to download them ]]
You will have to be logged into your account to download the bookmarks. This download feature will be available until September 8, 2012 (but the file that you download will continue to work forever). We understand that this change is an inconvenience to some of you, and we apologize for that.

That said, we are also in the process of updating the site with ongoing improvements and changes. We will announce the latest changes and additions on the forums regularly, so please stay tuned for those.

Topic: RE: What's going to happen in that time?
Thanks for the notice, everyone. I did catch this when it first happened a week ago but thought it went away. Looks like it's still happening. We'll look into this shortly. In the meantime, enjoy a taste of the future. :)

Topic: RE: Short Downtime - Server Went Kaput
Hey all, one of our database servers went down for about 30 mins inbetween, which might have caused the whole website to be down for some of you. It's all back up and working fine now, but if anyone you know is still having issues getting into the site, asking them to clear their cookies should work. I was personally having this issue with a "cookie has been tampered with" error and the "missing parts" page, even though the site was supposed to be fully functional. But as soon as I cleared cookies, it worked.

Thank you all for your honest feedback, particularly regarding the bookmarks. We have read all of it and are discussing the best course of action.

    Topic: RE: Bookmarks!
Hey all, I am sorry for the bookmarks being hidden away right now. As I explained in the other topic, we made some nagivation changes to improve the speed and accessibility of the site for both new and old members. Now, the important parts of the site are more visible and easier to get to than before (like Photos, Groups, My Journey, etc.). The bookmarks feature used some really old code, so it wasn't going to work with the new set up in its current form.

Don't worry, though. All your bookmarks are still stored in the system, and we're working on getting a way for you to download them and import them into your browser. I will personally update on the forums when that gets released (which will be soon). :)

Topic: RE: Minor Updates to OH - Thanks for your feedback
The main purpose for these new changes was to make it easier for everyone to quickly get to the most important places, like Forums, Photos, Groups, My Journey, MYOH, and your Settings. On top of that, we made the whole navigation flow and feel a lot faster (which I hope you've noticed!).

We realized that Meebo was really not being used much, so it's not worth having those popup ads on your page from something that's rarely or never used. Also, it would constantly keep connecting with the Meebo servers multiple times a minute (that's just the way these chat clients work), slowing down the site in the process. All that overhead for something that's not really used? So off it went!

The other aspect regarding the bookmarks, in addition to what was said in the main post, is that it was built a LONG time ago using some REALLY old code, and it was simply not going to work with the new smoother navigation. But as mentioned, we're working on a way for you to at download your old bookmarks, so stay tuned for updates on that.

Topic: RE: Minor Updates to OH - Thanks for your feedback
Hi, thanks for notifying. It's been fixed now. :) Take a look and let us know if there are any other issues.

I noticed that the dropdowns-within-dropdowns for selecting the surgery date forums is not working still, so we're looking into a better way of doing those.

For now, you can access the surgery dates forums from using the Breadcrumb above. The Breadcrumb is the the part right above here where it says "Forums >> Weight Loss Surgery Forums >> Message Board >> Minor Updates to OH...".

So float your mouse over "Forums" from the Breadcrumb to pull up a dropdown menu where you can access all the surg dates forums. Cheers!
