    I hope to be you! I'm 5' and started out at 356! I've lost 41 pounds total. Got a long way to go though. How long did it take you to lose the weight and what was your daily caloric intake?

    I found this a while back. Can't remember where I found it though.

    Plastic Surgery to Remove Loose Skin
    When bariatric surgery (eg. gastric bypass) leads to dramatic weight loss, excessive amounts of skin can accumulate and hang in various areas, including face, neck, breasts, upper and lower abdomen, flanks, armpit, back, buttocks, arms, forearms, thighs, legs, and calves. This surplus skin can cause considerable hygienic problems, skin irritation, skin breakdown, pain and infection.

    Average Fees of Plastic Surgeons
    The US national average for surgeon-fees for selected plastic surgery procedures are:

    * Abdominoplasty (tummy tuck) $4,827
    * Arm Lift (brachioplasty) $3,299
    * Body lift (Circumferential Panniculectomy) $7,874
    * Breast Lift (Mastopexy) $3,965
    * Breast Reduction (Women) $5,351
    * Buttock Lift $4,793
    * Face Lift $5,966
    * Forehead Lift $3,065
    * Male Breast Reduction (Gynecomastia) $3,124
    * Liposuction (Lipoplasty) $2,578
    * Thigh lift (Thighplasty) $4,308

    You might try chicken broth from Unjury. It's delicious and has just as much protein as the shakes. It tastes just like chicken soup broth to me.

    My doctor will determine mine by measuring the size of my elbow (bones) and determining what body frame I am (small, medium, large) and then use my height with frame to come up with my goal weight, or at least that's what he said.

    You're describing the feeling I had when my house burned down and I lost everything I ever owned. I didn't think I'm make it through that but I did. You will get through it. Just keep thinking that you still have your life. The videos and pics are just that, videos and pics.

    I'm so sorry that you're having all these issues. The only thing I can tell you is that I'm self-pay as well. My entire VSG surgery ended up costing me $9800 COMPLETE. My doctor is in New Iberia, Louisiana and came to see me in a hotel after surgery. I was only able to do the surgery because his rate is so affordable. If you can find a doctor that works hand-in-hand with a surgery center for cheaper rates like my doctor does, then maybe you'll be closer to being able to afford it. I wish you well.

    Hi, did you have your surgery done in New orleans?

    If you're asking me then the answer is no.  I had my surgrey done in New Iberia by Dr. Borland on February 27, 2012.

    I'm so proud of my surgery that I shout it from the rooftops for anyone and everyone to know. I honestly don't care what anyone thinks about it.

    Your in-laws are something else. If my in-laws had made a comment about me like that, my husband would be making all of the rest of the visits alone.

    Thank you both so much. I couldn't imagine our life any other way. I feel so sorry for those who do not have the support and love of their family members. What a sad world this is when a parent turns on their child because they're gay or trans. Sad indeed.
    Topic: RE: GLBTA
    Thank you for the compliments.

    When someone compliments me about being a wonderful mother to him, it baffles me for a bit. LOL! I'm just loving my child because he's mine. I have 32 and 31-year-old children as well. I can't imagine not loving him because he was born transgender. I'd never turn my back on any of my children but especially because of a gender issue. I wouldn't be able to function without him anyway. He's my buddy.
    Topic: RE: GLBTA
    I don't identify personally but I do have a transgender F2M 20-year-old (hence RAINBOMAMA username). We're actually saving for surgery for him in May or June to have top surgery (removal of breasts). I can't wait to be able to give the gift of surgery to him.

    Syntrax Chocolate truffle or cappuccinno aren't too bad in coffee. That's the only way I can tolerate protein.

    You should show him tonight why your size is good.  :) He'll soon forget what he said.

    Topic: RE: Potted meat?
    Yep, I've decided against potted meat and will choose better selections. Found some turkey wieners, turkey bacon and turkey sausage. I also love fish baked in the oven. We have plenty of fish and shrimp in the freezer. We live in the Louisiana swamp so it's not a problem to get seafood here. I have more catfish than anything though.

    I start week 3 postoperative tomorrow.

    Tell him to get lost.

    He shouldn't love you for your size.

    Yeah, I was joking, sort of. You have to be happy with your body and if you're happy then stop and if you're not, then don't.

    Good? Bad? Not good or bad taste but a good or bad choice.

    Nutrition summary:

    Calories 160 Fat 12g Carbs 0g Protein 11g
    There are 160 calories in 1 serving of Armour Potted Meat.
    Calorie breakdown: 71% fat, 0% carbs, 29% protein.
    Serving size is 3 ounces or one can.

    I would imagine the fat grams outweigh the amazing amount of protein in this instance but I want to be sure. Some may not like it but my mama scrambles it in eggs and it's delicious that way.

    I hope you guys like it. I ABHOR protein shakes and didn't like these, either. I ended up sending 8 packages to a friend on this board just a couple days ago. I have found that a LOT of people do like the Syntrax samplers though.
