Ontario - Looking for new home for 5 year old beagle

My 5 year old beagle is overly protective of me and it has become a problem between my boyfriend and I. The dog recently bit the boyfriend and no I have to face either putting him down or finding a new home for him. He is 5 years old. Neutered and microchipped. He has mild asthma, but no medical treatment is required. As with most beagles, he could afford to lose a few pounds. He would thrive well in a single-dog home, with lots of adult interaction. He loves to cuddle and would make a great companion for a senior who is home alone during the day. He has been a grea****ch dog and protector.... unfortunately I really don't need as much protecting these days. The dog came before the boyfriend and it makes it difficult to face the possibility that he may have to be put down. I have to decide what I am going to do, by June 5th. I live near Toronto.
