Beware everyone that own's a bird. Christmas eve I came home and my father-in-law was boiling some water in a t-fal teflon coated pot and the water dried up. I came in and found three sick birds with respirtory problem;s and too weak to balance themself to perch. It being christmas eve, I finally found a vet to see me. Two bird's ( a blue and gold macaw and a ****atiel) did not make it. The vet said that teflon at a high heat produces a gas that is toxic to bird's. They are more sensitive than we are. So everyone please, Be very careful with pot's and pan's around bird's. Wendy Jo

Wendy Jo, So sorry to hear of your loss!! Teflon is deadly to birds. I threw all of mine away and bought stainless steel pots and pans. I don't want to take any chances. Leslie

So sorry to hear about your poor birdies. My ****atiel died over New Years weekend too. It was so sad. He died in my hands. I think birds like to say goodbye before they pass away. I use the glass corning kind of pots.
