DUCK: White crested Pekin Ducks

I have a a couple 2 and The male decided he was in the mood to mate yesterday. The female has been perched on 14 eggs for the last 2 weeks. Well Yesterday he almost PECKED her eye out. It was a bloodied mess. Does anyone know anything about these beautiful Ducks. I never realized the males could be so aggressive...... The Female is wounded but back on her eggs. Good momma to the end I guess.... Thanks for the advise. Barbi
