Today I had an appt that my WLS SURGEON referred me to. It was a physical therapy doctor that did an evaluation. She suggested and referred me to physical therapy regarding my core muscles (legs and back). She said a few appts should do the trick there. She also stated that I should be talking with the Dr. in plastics or reconstructive surgery about having a panectomy. She said given the hang of my belly that she is not at all surprised that I am having the difficulties with my back and legs and the pain. She also said she is so shocked that I do get up and around as much as I do and that I can move as well as I can. She said that my balance issues are certainly affected by the enormous hang of the belly apron.
I have an appt at Virginia Mason Hospital for a consult regarding this on February 14th. I also may have a second opinion at the University of WA, but for sure will be meeting with the surgeon at Virginia Mason to see what they say about what is needed and what they can do to help.

All the steps in getting my body to a sensible working condition.
Today the doctor I saw was really happy with my working out. She said with some tweaking in the core muscle strengthing it will be great!!

All in all a good day. On a side note, she has had a head Cat Scan done today to make sure I am not having another bleed in my brain. I had one back in July 2011.... No not related to surgery, but rather related to my blood issues. So when I get the phone call that it is all clear, I will be a happy camper!

Awesome girl!! Just AWESOME I know my physical therapist at UW (Silver) was so awesome! In fact I just about give her all the credit for the 50lbs I lost before surgery.  So I know how inspiring and helpful a good PT can be.
Also, earlier in the week when I went to UWMC for my appt. I got a notice about their post-op meetings two in Feb and two in March I could be mistaken but, I know it's at least 4 meetings for just us post operation folks and was wondering if you would be going?
    hugs, Janette

Yes I am planning on attending them all. Not sure on the one on feb 21 as I have to be up north by 3 pm and will be going by bus. But I usually attend them.

    Hugs,

Good luck with the test results. I'm sure everything will be OK.

Interested to hear the results of the plastics consult. Might really help your back problems. But I'm sure your continued workouts help strengthen that as well.

    You've done so well!
