     Will my script insurance cover any of my vitamins and so forth that I will need after surgery. Just wondering.....

    Most likely no.  I was diagnosed with pernicious anemia way before surgery and need a prescription for B12 shots, but my drug plan won't cover them.  I buy them at Costco, cheaper than most pharmacies, but they aren't cheap.  Ask your doctor if they can prescribe some of your vitamins, they may then just be a co-pay.

    One thing to consider, with lower food costs, it offsets the cost.  I keep an eye for sales, and keep only a three month supply on hand at a time -- as to not have them expire before use.

    My insurance covers my mega dose Vitamin D caps I take weekly.
    I don't think you can buy 50,000 IU over the counter, which may be why they are Rx.
    They're pretty cheap, though.

    You should be able to go to your insurance website and log on and see what your Rx benefits will cover -- usually they have a formulary online where you can look up the name of the drug and they'll tell you the cost if you were to have it filled by mail or at a local pharmacy.

     Thanks everyone....I am not sure what vitamins I will even be needing. My consultation in wednesday and hopefully I will find more info out at this appt....
