Made it through pre-op diet day 1

I started my 3 week liquid pre-op diet today. I have been preparing since January and was down to one meal a day last week. Today was stressful, but I made it!  Only 20 more to go!

Wow, one meal a day, I couldnt do that..   so how is your pre op liquid diet...its not just once a day is it?  I hope you are doing good with it today.  I'm wiating anxiously for my surgery date.... i'm done with everything else.  I have lost almost 20 pounds just doing portion control and high protein and low carbs

I get 4 protein shakes a day and all the water I can drink. I think every surgeon has their own idea of the perfect preop diet. Men is all liquid for three weeks. Today was more difficult. In fact, I think I will go to bed before 8 just to stay away from the food. LOL. Sounds like you are doing well!  I hope you get a date soon! 

I'll be with you soon.  I am having a revision because I developed a fistula and things are moving very quickly as opposed to last time.  I'm also doing the liquid diet for 3 weeks or more.  Last time I only had to do two weeks.  I also had a lot of time to prepare myself mentally for it.  This time, I called three weeks ago to set up an intake, had the upper gi that found the fistula two weeks ago and going for the endoscopy Wednesday.  After the endoscopy comes the appointment with the nutritionalist and the beginning of the liquid diet.  Looking at the date on this post, you probably just had your surgery so congrats!
