I've been avoiding posting these, probably since I don't want accountability right now.  Which, clearly, is a sign I need it.  I made it to my high school weight goal of 180 and then promptly gained 4 pounds.  I'm not sure what's going on here... am I sabotaging myself out of some deep-seeded fear of the unknown?  Or was it stress eating before my 20th high school reunion?  I don't know, but I'm kicking my butt back into gear and getting back where I need to be.

Was 180 your lowest adult weight? I seem to remember reading that in one of your posts.

Some folks have said the body does weird things as it tries to adapt to the dramatic changes. Could that be the case here?

Could be sabotage too on a deep subconscious level. Fear of the unknown and all the big possibilities before you now. I feel that way sometimes when I see my new body.

You seem very resilient and incredibly focused. You'll find your way.

Yup, 180 is the weight I remember being when I graduated high school, and I've never been below that as an adult.  I can't even call this a stall, since I know exactly what I'm doing wrong!

I'll get the scale moving in the right direction again.  Hopefully sooner rather than later, eh?

Keeping it going...

High weight - 392

Last week - 234

This week - 231

next goal - 220s - and then to be in the 210s by my one year appointment in June! (omg)

This week was a crazy one - lots of moving around, keeping busy and an unforgettable trip to nordstoms.  I'm so excited and happy with my new clothes, and I'm dying to buy new shoes.  Of course the shoes that fit perfectly when I tried them on last weekend were a pair of Coach ankle zip heels to die for, but I didn't do it.  I'm waiting until I'm closer to goal to spend that kind of money on shoes (in case my size changes).

This is my off week in my cycle, but I'm going to keep at it and stick to my plan.

Whew.  I thought I was the only one avoiding accountability.  I can honestly say I've now experienced a "real" stall (four weeks without measurable weight loss).  Although I was eating some things that might not be the best (like fruit), I have been pretty diligent on measuring, weighing and tracking food.  And I'm exercising regularly, which doesn't influence weight loss substantially, but is part of my lifestyle change that I committed myself to prior to surgery.

So with all those EXCUSES, there's the down and dirty:

High weight:  449

Last week:  217

This week:  215

The good news is my BMI is below 35 so I wouldn't qualify for surgery at this point

Oh man, it was such a happy day when I no longer qualified for surgery!

My issue is that I've been snacking a lot, and I don't even think about it.  It's just like "oh, I want to shove this thing in my mouth.  DONE."  There isn't even a moment of, "should I shove this thing in my mouth?"  It's totally mindless.  I need to cut that **** out ASAP.

Hi,

I'm new-ish or haven't posted to this board since pre-op. Hope I can jump in! I do just a weekly weigh in at home, I'm 7 weeks post op and the daily weighing was giving me obsessive tendencies. I've been weighing everything I eat since 3 weeks and sticking to 2 oz or less if I can't fini**** I just started tracking my food in MFP for the last week to see how many calories I'm eating since I wasn't doing that previously, I was just counting protein before. Anyway, somehow I gained a pound last week but trying not to obsess over that. The one area I have not done well on since surgery is exercise - I need to work on that because right now I'm really lacking there.

High Weight: 377

Last week: 333

This week: 334

Next Goal: 299

I also have obsessive tendencies when it comes to numbers.  For me, what worked, was using TrendWeight.  I weigh myself daily, but now it's just data, nothing to obsess about.  I can focus on my trend going the right direction instead of on daily fluctuations.  It works very well for me!
