I'm not thrilled about the number I'm very short 4'11" and 265.4 I have lost weight but this was my first weigh in.  Next is the  ton of appointments to get approved.  My first visit with the surgeon, Stress test, endoscopy, blood work, psychological evail,  and of course approval from my insurance company.  I was told I don't have to go through a six month supervised diet what a relief I don't think i could do another one aside from my preop diet.  Feeling happy and just wanted to share .

I'm glad things are moving along! That first number was pretty shocking for myself, as well.  I remember being in a fog for about 10 minutes after the doctor gave me my BMI.  But, now you are on the path to change.

It is nice that you don't have to do a mandatory 6 month supervised diet.  But, hopefully some of your appointments will be with a dietician? For me, the most important part of the 6 month supervised diet was learning how I needed to eat and drink post surgery to be successful.  After surgery, I felt pretty well prepared in contrast to some folks on the forum who are really lost because they had little/no teaching beforehand.

Enjoy the journey!
