Hi Everyone!

Hope you all had a great weekend! Ours was busy, but all fun stuff. 100 pounds ago, it would have left me tired and achy. But my energy is high and I feel great.

Having more energy was one of my top reasons for having surgery, but even so, I still had no idea how much I would have so early out. Like so many of the benefits of weight loss, I assumed I'd have to get to goal before experiencing them.

But it happens way sooner! When drs or websites would mention the benefit of losing 10% of your body weight, I thought ya right! Not when you weigh nearly 400lbs!

But let me tell ya. It was literally right around losing 30-40 pounds I started to notice it. No more rationing my energy. No more avoiding things in case I would get too tired etc.

Wild.

We must have been posting at the same time!  I deleted mine :)  I started running when I was in the 260s. So I know what you mean about life being better even when you still feel so early out.  It's awesome.

I expected to see loss on the scale due to my long run yesterday and then not eating much, but I was cursed by not pooping :P  Well, that and Saturday was the annual Tamalada, so I ate tamales.  I know I'll be into the 160s this week and that's exciting!

High weight: 319

Hello all!

It was one of those weeks on the scale...grrr. Dropped 2 pounds the day after last weeks weigh in and that's were I've stayed. It bounced around a bit but ultimately ended up at the same spot. Deeeeep breath... ok, I'm over it. Maybe. Lol.

On a positive note exercise has become my transfer addiction! Hahaha, how amazing would that be long term?! Truthfully though my increase in activity has been pretty significant. I'm logging between 3 and 4 hours everyday (walking, Zumba, weights and a bit of cycling) and this week I added another 146000+ steps to my virtual walk to BC which puts my total over 300 miles so far. The long walks specifically are really helping me clear my head and refocus on job searching and life in general. I intend to reach some similar numbers this week and take full advantage of the time while I have it. The changes I'm feeling in my body are very motivating. I won't say I'm seeing the changes and the scale is frustrating but I feel so much better and that's a huge win!!

Would really like to see a double digit loss again this month, which would mean 2 more pounds this week, so that's my next goal followed by reaching the 250's.

Hope you all have a great week!

You're killing it!

Ive read in a few places that big increases in activity level can cause the body to hold onto some extra water. So I would try to shake off the scale numbers too! It will all come off eventually!

next goal: whatever is lower

fitness: I keep my focus on this since my weight is being stubborn. Im running over 4 miles at a time now, and increased my reps doing weights to 3 sets. The weights is a good challenge. Still haven't made it to a fitness class- but I will.

well if I were trying to maintain I'd have this thing on lock. But that's not what I'm trying to do. Eh, whatever.

I spoke with my Mom this week and told her that I thought my weight loss has pretty much tapered off. She responded with relief- saying she and my Dad thought I was getting way too thin. I told her what I weighed and she was shocked- she swore I was less than her (she is about 160). I guess I carry my weight well since I've always heard that- even when SMO. My mom even asked me if my scale is accurate. I told her about my DEXA Scan to better convince her. Gotta love parents!
