Hi all! I hope InsertFitness is okay!

I'll suck it up and get us going this week, even though I'm not thrilled with where my weight is at right now. I know why, and I know what I need to do, but knowing a thing and doing a thing are two separate issues.

HW: 319
LW: 159.4
TW: 158.4
Next goal: 145 - normal BMI! It's been my next goal for forever - I'll get there some day :) I've been trending around 157 for at least the last two weeks, so I need to get myself out of this rut.

How about you?

I'm in a rut too. I keep bouncing back and forth between 169 and 172. It's ridiculous. The last two months I have been under a lot of stress. I hate anxiety. My eating hasn't been bad, but hasn't been right on point either. My exercise hasn't been consistent either. I'm basically maintaining and like you I only have a little over 10 lbs to go. Grrrr. It's frustrating. Tomorrow is my surgiversary. I had hoped to be at goal. Don't get me wrong. I'm very happy with my progress, and I could quit losing right now and be pretty happy with how I feel and look in my clothes. But I deserve it all. I want to reach my goal -- which is a normal BMI for the first time in my adult life.

Hi all,

Happy surgiversary Sally!! I totally understand the desire to be at goal by your date.. you've done so incredibly well; hopefully you're celebrating your successes and going to keep going. You do deserve it all! Normal BMI is a great goal. :)

Gwen, yes... knowing what you have to do and doing are two different things. You've done so well too. Sometimes taking a bit of a break from losing, without sabotaging and gaining, is ok. You know what you need. Be honest with yourself, and forgiving too. :)

My loss has slowed down recently. I am 6.5 weeks post op. It could be the "stall" Sally reminded be of recently. It could be that I was sick last week (Shingles) and I was on meds... which threw my schedule off, and my mood and my physical health. Who knows. But I am down a bit, so I'll take what I can! I vowed pre-surgery not to let myself be defined by the scale, so I am not. :) I just monitor, notice, ensure I'm going the "right" way, and know I'm in this for the long haul!

HW: 308

LW: 270

TW: 268.5

Next goal: Get firmly below 268... aka lose more than 40 lbs!!

Success is not the key to happiness. Happiness is the key to success. Choose happy.

Thank you! I'm definitely going to keep going. And I will be celebrating this weekend by leaving for a long weekend getaway tomorrow. I'm excited. Can really use the R&R.

So sorry to hear about the shingles. That's one of my big fears. I hear it is awful. I sure hope that you're feeling better. I bet the weight loss will start right up again as you get back to your regular schedule. And you are very smart to try to not be defined by the scale. It's a losing proposition (no pun intended ).

hi Everyone!

Sorry for being MIA! first, we had company staying with us, and they stayed in the scale room. Now, my sister's college is on strike, and its near my house, so she has been coming to my place at 6 am, we have coffee and i drop her off on the picket line for before seven, then make my way to work. She can't cross the picket line, but her baby's daycare is on the other side, so i duck out of work at the end of her strike shift to pick him up, then her, then i come back to work.

All that to say, my regular routine is out of sorts!!

HW: 378

LW: 173

TW: 170.5

Goals: 145 which puts me at the top end of a healthy BMI. which currently seems like a lifetime away....
