Wow ladies---look at you!   FABULOUS WEEK for both!
Pre op, Post op--you're both working it!!

I, on the other hand, lost 000000 this week. Only 25 pound to go and life is going to make me suffer to get there.  But it will happen----eventually!

Welcome --- this is a great board. Sometimes a little slow but certainly growing.
Almost 5 pounds last week on your pre op diet?  Good work.

Go with the surgery that works for you! Know that you can achieve the weight you want---might take a little longer---not due to the surgery type just our starting point.

June 25th---coming up soon!  Good luck and keep us posted.

    Well Alison---
I thought we were going to have to crawl across that 199.99 line. But I'm now convinced we'll be dragging our bodies prone like a person crossing the desert (I was going for imagery).
Was hoping to get there by this Saturday (birthday) but that's not going to happen.

Last Post (not last week)-- 214

    Goal---185

Overdid the wine a little Saturday night---Atl Meet and Greet---3 glasses over the course of the evening. Nothing compared with what I could drink pre op but certainly more than what I'm doing now. Strangely---didn't even get a buzz. Damn

    Have a good week everyone.

Edited to add---I think I've lost more than I weigh--will have to check that. I don't change my ticker until I get an official weight from PCP, surgeon, specialist, etc.

    Topic: RE: How much weight???
It's frustrating waiting for that big change to happen. But let me tell you that you could be losing inches in some place but still not seeing a size change. for example----pants----my pant legs were flapping in the wind but since my hip size didn't change that quickly I still couldn't wear smaller pants sizes. It took awhile for my waist and hips to "catch up". Still not there but the combo of legs and hips is better.

Same with tops---I have to watch the arm size (batwings you know) but the torso is definitely allot smaller. Got to deal with extra skin!

    It will all come together.

For some reason, I'm having trouble posting a reply to your original.
But I just wanted to add that I think this was a great, honest post with true feelings. You always are a straight shooter.

I admire what you done since surgery but have allot of admiration for your pre surgery work.
    Not an easy task.

    Again, congrats and Happy Bday!

Topic: RE: if anyone has any old stomach binders or girdles they dont need
Give me a few days---might be able to find something.
Got to dig into some storage stuff.  I'll PM you mid to later in the week.

    Judy---
Congrats on having your surgery soooooo quickly. In---out---done---and recovering.

Take it slow as you build your strength up and recoup. Drink tons of fluids and walk as much as you can.

Fluids and protein shakes---name of the game right now!!!!  Good luck and ask any questions if you get too overwhelmed. We're all here to help.

Topic: RE: New with alot of weight to lose!
    Welcome Vickie
Always glad to have a new face here!  I'm really excited that you have a supportive husband and daughter. It's such an important component to have a support group around you.

You can lose as much weight as you want with VSG. You'll see that on this board in particular. It just takes some a little longer than others...but we're starting from a different place than allot of folks on the other forums. We'll all get there supporting each other.

    Off topic---
    Kat---love the new avatar
hwag---I think I go looking for your posts---you make me laugh my ass off - (it's still the largest part of me and needs more work)

Topic: RE: my redneck stomach binder

"And the creativity award goes to SARAH!"---Congrats on a rather unorthodox fix to your problem!

Tell me----Are you looking for something like a Spanx (old fashion word---pantie girdle) or running shorts type thing?  Size, if you don't mind sharing. Someone might have something you could use if you don't mind 2nd hand.

In the meantime---good work. Maybe a drawstring at the top??

    New avatar?

    How about something like this?

    http://www.championusa.com/workout-clothes/women/plus-size/c hampion-double-dry-reg%3B-power-liner-womens-shorts

May be other sites. i just googled ---plus size spandex for women.

I think they carry Champion in the athletic stores--Dick/s, Sports Authority, etc.
Just not sure if they carry plus sizes.

    No change

Not a surprise since I lost the 2 previous weeks.

Working tons of hours the past few weeks and more changes ahead. It's messing with my exercise schedule. I've got to find a way to be more flexible with that!....working on it.

Topic: RE: My almost year out post from VSG board.
    Wow---you've done great--- looking good!
Someone said you "kicked butt" and I agree---kicked it all away!
How the heck did you to that??????

Topic: RE: eat all the things!

You certainly have more fight than I do!!! If there's chocolate, chips, etc in my house....well it won't be here long. I have to keep it out, out, out!!!  And I'm 2 years + in this journey. Just not a skill I've mastered yet.

Best secret besides keeping away from temptations---have a substitute that you really enjoy available.

But guess what---you had a twix and life didn't end. So you work through it this time and get back on the wagon and go forward. Don't stress over it.

Topic: RE: Can I tell you how much
Don't they just make you feel great!! Bras are one of the few things that I've spent some real dollars on!  These tube sock looking things on my chest lift up nicely with decent support. Too bad I'm continuing to lose there after 2 years----they are continuing to deflate!!! But that's OK.

It's only going to get better and better!!!! as time goes by.

    Goal  185

Down 2#s 2 weeks in a row. That's good for me at this point.

I so want to break into the 1s by mid-June. Big birthday coming up and I have a goal to be 199.9- by then. It would be the first time in %^*% years (a very long time).    Just don't know what else to do to make that happen (cals are down, protein and water up, pool time up). Stress is up, too. Looking at a job change AGAIN this summer.

But all is good....Have a great week everyone.

Topic: RE: Monday Morning Weigh In
Holy smokes---do they do the surgery all at one time? So you're talking incisions in both arms, stomach, back, boobs, etc.?  Lord almighty, sounds great but tough!!!!!

I would need them to throw in a face and neck lift, too  Maybe it would be a freebie

Is this with that popular Dr. S???? in Mexico?

Topic: RE: Monday Morning Weigh In
Damn girl---what are you doing?  I thought an earlier post said you were having a hard time with the exercise. Better keep doing what you're doing now.  You're right....crazy successful!

damn, damn, damn, damn, damn, damn...... I'm saying to myself

Topic: RE: Fallen off the exercise train & struggling to get back on
    Christine----
I'm single, no kids----and here is probably the reason-----------

What the heck does this mean?    I don't want to make my husband do too much w/Lacrosse bc he hates the travel & commitment. And I certainly can't ask him to do it w/ our 2 year old super active son.......... I take time away from the family for work how can I take it away to exercise at night. (I enjoy the exercise classes).

I'll let married folks comment here but what are you allowed to do for yourself without feeling guilty? I think exercise helps relieve some of the stress from work and family. And if you think about it, that along with your improving health, will benefit your family too.

If you don't think you can get away from home, how about jumping rope or hula hooping in the garage. Or the usual DVD. But I say work with the husband to get a couple of hours a week just for you.

I hope that doesn't come across as harsh but thinking of yourself for just a few hours isn't selfish IMHO. Consider it an investment in your long term relationships.

Thanks so much for the info. I'm going to study up on Hybrids.
I'm not in that 5'4" group---more like 5'10" with pretty long legs.
And for sure---those padded bike shorts!!!!!

I definitely need to start slow. On quiet streets---I'm a little nervous about riding with traffic. I'm kind of a demon driver but I think a very cautious rider.

Ditch that walker??  You'll be doing a 5K before you know it!!

Topic: RE: So Tell Us About Bikes.........
I think I saw posts from at least 3 people who want a bike.

I sure could use a little info. I stopped in a bike shop last week and was really intimidated since I went in armed with 000000 information. I hate that.

Last time I was on a bike it was borrowed from my brother, a 3 speed (which I knew nothing about), a teeny tiny seat and no one ever wore a helmet. So we're talking the early '80s. YIKES.

So if I was looking for a bike (probably used) what would I look for? No plans to race, use it in the mountains, ride with a club. More like neighborhood riding--if that makes sense. Boy's bike vs. girl's bike (do they still make those?) Besides the bike, what else do you need? helmet?

Just looking online, they are fairly expensive, even used.    I'm trying to decide if it's worth the investment.

    Any advise?
