     Hello:)

    High - 435
    LW    - 258
    TW    - 253

I am just starting to break out of a month long stall, so I am pretty psyched.  I still am not able to do much exercising due to some health issues, but I have been doing a lot of walking and just trying to be more active overall.  I am loving the changes in my body,  loose skin and all :)

Topic: RE: Friday NSVs - what did you do this week?
I have had a REALLY stressful past  week.....BUT...

** I stayed on track with my food, with the exception of a slip-up that involved pasta and a few ****tails after a memorial service. (I forgave myself and moved on)

** I wore high heels..well high for ME (2.5 inches), for the first time in 10 years and didn't fall

** I was able to dance around my backyard with my soon-to-be 7yr old stepdaughter for over an hour!! (Not in the heels though..lol)

Topic: RE: What do you do for your hanging belly?
I can't believe that I am going to publicly admit this..lol...but when I say thigh 'creases', I really mean hanging rolls too. Much like my stomach hangs. The mid thigh shaper doen't offer a lot of support, it just smooths them so that I can wear pants and not have the pants get 'caught' on/in my thigh rolls. The Spanx smooth, but they don't even stop the jigglies I have going on in my thighs, they just smooth like a pair of pantyhose would. They do, however offer decent control of my butt and smooth the dimples and control the jigglies .

The footless tights that go mid calf offer absolutely NO support. I have jiggly, dimpled calves that also need support and the Spanx tights were useless..no support and easy to get runners in.

I found some 'no name' pantyhose at a local discount store (Marc's) that work great tho. They are 19 % Spandex so they are super run resistant and they limit the movement on my thighs and smooth so well that i am going to try them with a light colored pair of pants, something that all the rolls, ripples, dimples and jiggles wouldn't let me do before.

Topic: RE: What do you do for your hanging belly?
I have been using Spanx 'Higher Power' undergarments. It goes up to my bra line and ends mid thigh.
I think they give good support without being uncomfortable.  I like to wear cotton panties under them, but they are made to be worn without them. I have tried the brief styles, but found that they don't go up high enough, and I am on the short side (5'2")

The leg hems are soft and don't 'cut in' so you don't see a line from it under your pants. I have creases on my thighs, so I like that these Spanx smooth me out. I haven't had a problem with them rolling down either. They run $36.00 on the Spanx website (i think) but I have had pretty good luck getting them under $20.00 on eBay (new without tags)

I have also tried Spanx footless tights, which go down mid calf, but found that they are not NEARLY as well made as the Higher Power style.

Good for you!!!!  I hope that I will be able to have my tummy done after I lose more weight.  I look forward to wearing panties that I don't have to tuck under my belly!

Danni...your explanation makes sense to me, but it is still frustrating!  I wish I could go down a size for every 20 lbs I lose :)

Mona...here is your surgeon's page link. You may also look at his reviews and PM  former patients. You can also check with his office and see if there is a support group, attend and meet people....Please, for your own safety, delete your phone number from your post.
    Good Luck!

Ooooh..the belly button blowout sounds awful!!!! Glad you healed okay!!

I could have had the RNY done lapriscopically if I went to another surgeon (who is also closer to me), but that surgeon also has less experience with higher BMIs than the one that I am going to. I just feel more comfortable with this surgeon.

I am hoping we made the right decision...my fiance is having open RNY the week after me! Should be a fun couple of weeks here!

While I have talked to a few people who had Open RNY, they weren't starting off at anywhere near the size that I am (370, 5'2")
I am a little worried about the weight of my stomach/pannus pulling on the incision. While I know that everyone is different, I am hoping that I could hear how recovery was for some of you who are close to my size.
    Thanks!.
