Increasing albumin - How long does it take?

I'm aiming to increase my albumin levels before surgery.  Any idea how long it takes to see a change in lab results.  If I have my labs drawn monthly will I see a difference?

It's tough to say. We don't know if you have any medical issues that might draw on your protein related values, or what you're using to increase the albumin compared to prealbumin vs. all other levels. Are you truly deficient? If so, what do the specialists say?

I have no underlying medical issues.  Since my VBG I'm slighly anemic, but that's all.  Because of my band I have difficulty getting in and keeping down protein.  I've been eating higher protein foods and drinking powders and shakes.  Today I was able to get in (40g) during the day.  After work I had a nut mix (24g) and monster slim jim (12g).  It's taken 2 1/2 hours for the nuts and jerky to stop feeling "stuck".  I was hoping to get the last 24 g in with a protein drink, but it's 8pm and it may be too late to put anything else in my stomach and be able to sleep comfortably.

My numbers are usually at or right below the normal range for protein, prealbumin and albumin.  I'm not sure what the difference is between these though.

So my problem is truly the amount of protein I'm consuming and able to keep down.  It's easier to eat a croissant than bacon and eggs for me.  It can be done, it just takes planning and effort.

Is the nuts and slim jim on tops of the 40 g?

Yup!  40 before the end of my work day.  I had the nuts and slim jim driving home (It's a 75 min drive). So that got me to 76 for the day.

So 40 grams plus 36 for the other stuff ain't bad. How about cheese? Yogurt? Eggs? Supplements? Soy nuts to nibble on all day?

I just had some crackers with 2 wedges of Laughing Cow Cheese.  That's 5 more for the soft cheese.  I think I'm going to have a glass of milk (8) and go to bed.  So that will put me at about 89 for the day.

I think I'll do the same tomorrow but add some string cheese and nuts while at work.

Albumin has a half life of about 20 days.  Monthly draws would probably be enough to notice a difference.  Just make sure you're well hydrated when you recheck.  Dehydration can make bad numbers look normal.
