Increasing albumin - How long does it take?
I have no underlying medical issues. Since my VBG I'm slighly anemic, but that's all. Because of my band I have difficulty getting in and keeping down protein. I've been eating higher protein foods and drinking powders and shakes. Today I was able to get in (40g) during the day. After work I had a nut mix (24g) and monster slim jim (12g). It's taken 2 1/2 hours for the nuts and jerky to stop feeling "stuck". I was hoping to get the last 24 g in with a protein drink, but it's 8pm and it may be too late to put anything else in my stomach and be able to sleep comfortably.
My numbers are usually at or right below the normal range for protein, prealbumin and albumin. I'm not sure what the difference is between these though.
So my problem is truly the amount of protein I'm consuming and able to keep down. It's easier to eat a croissant than bacon and eggs for me. It can be done, it just takes planning and effort.
