Cost of Vit K Test?

Does anyone know the approx cost of getting vit K tested? We can;t get it tested here in Ontario and I was wondering what it would cost me if I went to the US to have it tested every few years.

Thanks.
We can't actually get it tested at all? That would explain why the lab I went to didn't know what the heck I was talking about. Ugh...that's stupid!

Thanks for the heads up and I'll be following this thread to see an answer too.

Yep they don't test it here and at the med labs they think you are nuts.
I was thinking about this today and I'm wondering if we could get Out of Country approval for this? Because it is medically necessary and it's not done in Ontario. Obviously we would need to apply to OHIP - just like we did when we got the surgery. The reason I thought of this is because my daughter has had a couple of genetics tests where they've drawn her blood and then sent the blood off to places in the US for testing. Each time I've had to sign the OOC form so they could get approval. If that was approved I'm wondering if we could get this approved? Thoughts?

I'm not sure it would be approved since we can get Vit E tested but have to pay for it. Hmmm...maybe we should check the schedule of benefits to see if these tests are actually approved in certain cir****tances.

I didn't know we couldn't get it tested.  Cheri may be on to something.  I just bought some K at my healthfood store and wasn't even sure if it was the right one or not.  Is there a certain kind you are taking?  The one I got was K2, and it is a tablet form.

Edit to add...looks like it's prescription only..but maybe your US surgeon could give that to you and you'd be able to get it there.

here is a link I found for more info on self testing.  It doesn't look like it's too hard.   http://www.labtestsonline.org/understanding/features/hometes ting-2.html
