Counting Carbs with the DS

I know, I know its been talked about, but I cant find my link to post. Please explain to me, 'again', how DS'ers count carbs, we count NET (sugars & fiber), right? Or am I just thinking something else. I use MFP and it counts total carbs and I know we dont count the 'total' be net. So NET Carbs are the sugar and Fiber added together.

Delete Fiber from Total Carbohydrates to get your Net Carbohydrates.  So..

Carbohydrates - 10
Fiber - 2
Net carbs: 8
