Set to have surgery next week but facing a new issue

My surgery is set for April 2. I went this past Monday for my pre-op with the Dr and then to the hospital for my pre-op, lab work, etc. They did an ECG or EKG and discovered a change since the last one was done. After some more waiting they informed me I have Branch Bundle Block and need to see a cardiologist to get clearance. They got me in yesterday, they determined I am going to need a echocardiogram, it is set for Monday late afternoon. We will get the results probably Tuesday and then we will have to see if I get to have my surgery or if I have to postpone it. So I am feeling rather bummed, am on my 3rd day of the pre-op diet too. Feeling very anxious and overwhelmed at this point.

That's too bad!  But it's great that you know there is an issue and you can work on getting it resolved.  You would not have known otherwise.  Hopefully your surgery can still happen!

I had the same thing and the echo cleared me.  I hope the same for you!

I hope everything works out for you. Most of the time they will still do surgery, especially if it is brought on by hypertension. Good luck!

Hopefully this is nothing. At over 500lbs I used to get anomalous readings on some of these tests so in my experience you'll be good to go. Just one more thing to overcome. You can do it!!!
