Need help too...

So, I just got out of the hospital because at about 4 months post op, I started vomiting a lot more and couldn't seem to get liquids if anything to stay down. Including water. So, for the plast 3 days I've been in the hospital having a myriad of tests for Hingis like strictures, etc. Everything came back normal. Now I'm home and I'm super depressed because eating and drinking without throwing everything back up feels like a full time job and I need to go back to work next week. Did anyone else experience anything like this? I need to know there is a light at the end of the tunnel..,

I hope someone can chime in with suggestions.

The worst is when you know something is wrong and they can't find an answer.

I really irritated my digestive system earlier this year. It was so painful my stomach and intestines were inflamed. The ER tested me for kidney stones / appendix / ovarian cysts but nothing.

While in the ER I realized I had decided to do intermittent fasting where I didn't eat from 8pm until noon. Well I was allowing myself black coffee and took my vitamins. Turns out black coffee and vitamins on an empty stomach did a number on me.

Are there foods you can keep down? Can you do something gentle like oatmeal bite or two with protein or vitamin?

I know you want to be low carb but you need to eat and prevent your body from going into starvation mode or you'll have trouble jump starting loss again and be malnourished.

I hope you find an answer. Keep us updated.

So sorry you're experiencing these issues. What does your surgeon say about all this? Are you still taking anti-nausea meds? Wish I could provide some advice.

I haven't had similar issues, but my hubby who had a VSG revision almost 2 months ago, same time I had my DS, has had exactly what you are describing. His stomach at the very bottom was barely open. It took 3 ER visits. Him losing over 50 pounds in a month, and continuous vomiting before they figured it out. They finally did an EGD. CT scans, barium swallows did not show anything. He has had an EGD 3 times so far and they have stretched his stomach each time. He can tolerate pureed foods, but that is it. He goes in again next week for, hopefully, the final EGD and stretching. If you haven't had an EGD ask for one. He was fine the first 30 days and advanced his diet just fine and one day vomited on soft lunch meat and it was downhill from there. Turns out his esophagus down through his stomach was full of rotted food that would not pass, which caused the vomiting. He feels 100% better now, but had to start the phases over and be very careful with what he eats.

Hi-

i had an endoscopy and the barium swallow test and they are showing that everything is passing normally, so I don't know what to do. Did you husband's tests ever come back normal first?

No they always showed a near blockage. He has had a dilation to open it more 4 times so far. Sorry you are having troubles.
